Re-riveting pmags - mag body damaged

This only helps if it's the rivet head interfering with the magwell that's causing the issue. If it's the fact that the 5th round can't be pushed down far enough into the mag for the mag catch to engage (Which is what it seems like is happening here), this won't help.
I've had some mags where the rivet used was way too long and it curled like a banana, using a properly sized high quality rivet was all it took to get a little extra space. Sometimes a long rivet can grab a coil of the follower spring too which also jams things up. Not scratching up the Magwell is just a little bonus since the job is being done already.

Are the mags pinned in the spine or the side?

If you fill the magazine before drilling, and push down on the brass, may put enough leverage against the rivet to prevent it spinning while drilling. Your working an inch or two away from the ammo itself, so not dangerous. If really concerned with that, use empty brass.

That what I have been trying to do - however to remove the follower I need to remover the rivet. And I would like to re-use the same hole for new rivet.
You shouldn't have to remove the rivet to remove the follower. takes a bit of Jenga, but you can get it around the rivet.

I'm sure for the record he is installing the new before removing the old.
I'd like to see that.

If you leave the rivet out I'm told it is easier to load.;)
Truth.

Clearly I am an outlaw living reckless life. That what we, outlaws, do - re-rivet magazines. Then we use them in crime, because 5.75 rounds capacity magazines give us advantage over rival gangs with 5.0 rounds capacity mags.
Possibly you missed my point? The law is STUPID but the moment he removes the rivet, the now unpinned mag is a prohibited device because there is nothing in the law to allow maintenance or cleaning of a pinned mag.

Rather than move the rivet, can you shave the bottom of the follower?
Now, how would one do that, when the rivet is blocking the follower being removed from the mag body.

I'd also like to see this.

A sane judge would have to agree there is a point of reasonableness in law and maintaining equipment should be seen as a necessary part of safe and smart gun ownership.
Coupled with a well explained clear intent of no planned crime spree with a un neutered mag, in the right world all should be good.

I do understand we are in clown world though...so not sure of anything to do with politicians and the legal/law enforcement industry

One would hope that a judge would see reason and not convict but man the cost of getting to that point would run to many tens of thousands of dollars.

True enough, but police officers don't give a schitt about possible financial ruin or anything a normal person would think about.
They just need that ticket written or arrest made to check it off their monthly Bingo card for career advancement and atta boys.

Always remember police are NOT there to help you in most interactions.

If they can't generate revenue and execute an arrest there is not much point in them attending.

Is that supposed to be a serious suggestion? This site sometimes, wow. Really illustrates exactly how we got to this point in the first place.
´What´s your problem with the suggestion?

The gent is having an issue with removing the rear pin without damaging it or the body. If they want to get the 5 round capacity and allow for seating they can put a fresh pin in then remove the rear pin and never have a prohib device
