Hello, I have a question for someone as I cannot find the specific rule in the book for magazine capacity..

If I use Beretta 96 magazines that are designed for .40 caliber bullets, and I believe will hold 12 9mm rounds and work just fine in the sub 2000 does it make it restricted or prohibited because of the magazine?

any help would be appreciated..

No it doesn't make it anything. You can stuff as many 9 mm in a 40 cal mag as it will hold as long as the 40 cal mag is pinned to hold 10 rounds of 40 cal and it's legal to use a 40 cal mag in a 9 mm gun

Heckler and Koch P7 pistol chambered for 9mm Luger caliber:
The magazine designed for the 40 S&W calibre variant of the pistol will hold 13 cartridges of 9mm Luger calibre and function in the 9mm Luger calibre P7 pistol. This is permissible as the maximum permitted capacity of the 40 S&W calibre magazine must be measured by the number of 40 S&W calibre cartridges it is capable of holding, which is 10 such cartridges in the case of the HK P7 pistol magazine....
