Re: the Tavor 21

Being from south of your border here in the USA, I was recently surprised (pleasantly) to find that the Tavor civvy model is available to Canadians, albeit in a ten-rd. max capacity. Down here we hear alot about how the anti-gunners have alot of sway in Canada. Good to hear that a fine gun like the Tavor can be owned up there.

Down here, we have to wait for IWI, or some affiliate partner mfg. begins building the Tavor in the US to overcome the mil-type sporter import ban (in the form of an executive order from Bush I in 1989). SO. . .I just wait. I saw it on a site called Canadianammo.com I believe for $2,999.00 CA dollars (would represent about $2,910.00 US dollars). That IS a great rifle, but that IS also a hefty price as well. My question is: has anyone seen the Tavor any cheaper elsewhere in CA? I certainly hope the price comes down IF and WHEN it gets built here so I can buy one. Thanks in advance. Enjoy those TAvors!!

everything here will cost more then it does in the USA just look at the Ar-15 prices, in the case of the tavor people are willing to pay more because it is such a unique item and it is Non-restircted.

I am very glad to hear are all the positive news!!!! I didn't know about the SHOT debut. Btw, CanAm, where is that particular SHOT Show located? We get one here somewhat near to Miami in Orlando Florida, but there are others. And, yes. . .the accessories galore will come out of the US woodwork as soon as the gun is available. I imagine you guys will be able to buy them from the US on-line shops.

Does anyone know which mfg finally partnered with IWI? Was it K.B.I. / Charles Daly as per the link above?

Again, super news for the US. Thanks much for the inf, guys!

SHOT is in Vegas this year. I believe it will be for the next couple. Yes, KBI is assembling/making the gun in the US. It is already mostly made in the US for FMS aid.

The ability to buy firearms without a license and with the selection in the USA sort of makes the Tavor redundant.

Yeah. . .God help me, but I am a hopeless addict. I have tricked out AKMSs, AKMs, Ak-101s, Colt Ars, CETME, PTR-91s, a host of handguns, Saiga 12 shotties . . .but I see a new toy with which I can possibly dominate 3-gun matches even better than I already do with the AK-101, S-12 and Steyr M-9 and M-40 pistols. Hey, at least we do a criminal background check here.

I know I may need a 12-step program, but after seeing one on Futureweapons, I just have to have a TAVOR! Pity me, please . .but don't judge me. :ar15::ar15: :D

Funny...I thought Taurus was building them for IWI in Brazil to handle the heavy demand outside of Israel. Either way I hope they make it into the US market so some accessories become available to us Canadians...or at least give Dlask some cool ideas so we can actually buy accessories for our invisitavors.
