was given a pound of re-22 and i was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on its use in a 270, behind sierra 150gr. sp's. my books don't list it, except for the lighter bullets. any load data would bve appreciated. starting and max loads would help.

Have a look at Alliants website, if they don't have the exact load you want it should give you a good starting point to work from

RL 22 is just an excellent choice in the 270 with bullets weighing anywhere from 130 - 160 grains. I would start at 54 grains with those 150's, and work up in ½ grain increments. Max should be around 57/58 grains. If you are using Federal or Norma brass, drop down an extra grain to start. Regards, Eagleye.

lots of info online, take a look at stevespages, it has data from many loading manuals.

270 win. 150 gr. bullet - RL-22 From 48.7 grains to 59.5 grains (doesnt' say from which manual)

I've had good luck with RL22 + 130gr and 140gr bullets in the .270 Win. - it gives great velocity and accuracy. I can't see why it would be any different with the 150gr bullets.
