Anyone have any experience using 209 primers for rimfire targets??? My son brought some Firebird 65 but they're quite large at 30 yrds. Impressive though.
 
Well then just shoot em at 200 yds. Pretty sure thatll increase the challenge. Those targets are 65mm which is well beyond 2 inches making it bigger than 1 moa target. Your search is over.
 
Just be careful when shooting 209 primer, the little T anvil inside the primer will fire right back at you, how do I know, I made steel targets that sandwiched the primer between two pieces of steel, and was shooting it with a .177 air rifle. So if you do wear your PPE
 
I've used the 'pull-tab lids' of cat food cans. I tie them onto a string a couple inches apart and string them between target stands. Also can staple the tabs onto frame with the lid sticking out, but they don't 'react' as much.
 
I'm lazy so I've moved to targets that don't need to be reset or replaced. Everything on my range is now hanging steel or spring-loaded poppers for rimfire. Made a couple of kyl racks for various distances.

don't forget rotting fruits and veggies you can pickup from the local store before they dump them.

We score a lot of melons from local grocery stores that have cracked/spit in transport, or fruits that are decaying for free that way.
Give em a call a day or so before you head out for the range, they're make great tannerite packers or 00 Buckshot targets if you find them at the right time.

We store them in rubber maid bins overnight if we have to in order to prevent bugs/pests
 
Chalk seems like the best suggestion so far.

I used to enjoy blasting small mosaic tiles left over from projects with my 22 out on crown land.
 
When my niece and nephew were little, I used to tape Necco wafer candies on a piece of cardboard. They blow up real good when hit and don't leave a big mess afterwards. The pieces will just dissolve the next time it rains. Plus a small treat for the kids.

Yep. When my kids were little, one of the reactive targets I made was driving #6 screws through a pc. of wood so that the thread was exposed on the other side. (x about 10) Then twist old carrots/potatoes onto them and shoot with 22LR hollow points. ka-boom! lol Especially when frozen.
