Hello,

I am reading a portion of the Ontario Interactive Crown Land Map. The Legend tab indicates that white spaces are 'General use Areas'. Does that mean free to hunt on unless posted?

This seems to make sense in WMU's north east of the GTA. When I look around CFB Bordon / Simcoe County for the 'Simcoe County Forests' I cannot see them with the Crown Land finder.

The URL is http://www.lio.ontario.ca/imf-ows/imf.jsp?site=clupa_en

Thanks in advance.

Some of the other desidnated areas, such as those labeled wilderness Areas, Enhanced Management Areas, Forest Reserves and Conservation Reserves can also be hunted on, probably most of them. That would be site specific though, and if you click on the " I " icon in the toolbar, then the number of the site shown on the body of the map, the details for that area will come up.

I was looking at some of the different areas arround Sudbury that I know are fine to hunt on as examples, and lots of the Consrvation Reserves are no cutting areas for white pine, moose yarding areas etc.

Your area is going to have lots more restrictions however, and lots less crown land, so be carefull.
