Real CZ 858 beach stock durability? Cracking issues?

Sold the whole set for $80 on the EE, 2 years ago. I think people are asking $200-400 for surplus wood now on the EE cou:

Supply and demand, I guess. I remember when Corwin Arms was blowing out full sets for under $100...

Shoulda held on to it, The cheapest I have seen is 150$ shipped and it took me 1 year to find. Looks like everyone that has one is holding on to them as the CZ/VZ crowd grows.

I didn't get the last of the CZ858's so I won't be buying another VZ58 pattern rifle, so no more wood is needed by me. I would probably have made some money when I found, bought and refinished 4 sets for sale on the EE a couple years ago. At the time, I lost money when I factored in all the work I did. I did enjoy the hobby for a little bit though. Just wasn't worth the trouble to lose money at the time.

Dlask Arms from BC has wood butt stocks for 65$ and pistol grips for 25$. There hand guards appear to be sold out. I have this on my VZ , no cracking problem. I run a nea upper hand guard and a birch lower, fab pistol grip, birch but stock.

My CZHermex came with the original beachwood. I have also have purchased some spare beachwood. However, I think the beaver barf is more durable and beautiful in its function. It's tough! I use it and never have to baby it. I swapped out the beachwood for the barf and love it...
