real good scale?

I bought an R.C,B.S. " 5-0-5" Scale about 35 years ago, along with a set of scale check weights. Have since used it constantly, both for weighing rifle loads and for checking pistol & shotgun loads. I'd say it was a good scale !

If I were doing it again, I think I'd look at the R.C.B.S. "10-10" Scale. It has the identical type of balance beam with grain and 1/10 grain adjustments as my old 5-0-5.

Tried one of the newer electronic scales ( buddys') ... didn't like so didn't buy. Prefer my "oldy" .

Done both electric and 'analog'. Electric all the way, speeds up the process a lot. I've got the RCBS chargemaster1500, love it.

And, the 10-10 has a built-in dust cover (you want to keep dust off the thing to keep it accurate), and it settles faster and is slightly more sensitive than the 5-0-5. I think the 10-10 is the best of the mechanical bunch (barring certain exotics).

RCBS or Ohaus 10-10 for me.:D Ohaus makes all of the RCBS scales. If you find an Ohaus 10-10 it will be cheaper because it doesn't have green paint - same scale.

I also have a RCBS 5-0-2 and a 5-0-5 and a Lee scale, but only use the 10-10 now. If you can get a 10-10 for under $100 in excellent condition - buy it, you won't regret it.

Anybody looking for a used RCBS Scale. I've got three different scales I should put in the exchange forum that I don't use anymore and are just taking up space.

I use the RCBS 5-0-5 I find it quite good, easy to use, I find it very accurate, I load 10 different calibre's with it no problems at all. Good value for the money.

For $59 you can get the hornady m 510grain capacity, settles quick, easy reading and positive adjustment. I have never been disapointed anyway with mine. The only regret is not breaking my lee scale sooner.

I think this best scale for the money(under $70)
