Real Ivory on Lee Enfields?

Was there real Ivory or Mother of Pearl on the rear sights of early Lee Enfields? I have one that looks like it could be Ivory on the adjustment slider. I was just wondering.

Pretty sure it was bone not ivory.

Last copy of Surplus Arms had an article on the SMLE, they say it's bone

I've read is bone. Mine is a 1905 MKI SMLE.
