I recently purchased a 400 round lot of sellier and bellot 7.62x54r ammo from tenda. I have bought a small amount of this prior from a different store and it came in cardboard with red markings around the jacket and primer. With my recent purchase the website showed the same type of ammo red markings/ cardboard etc in the pictures. When it arrived i was surprised to find it was wrapped in paper with no red markings and the weirdest thing was that it was in an open spam can that seemed to have all the markings removed. There was no way to identify the origin of the can.
I called the store and the lady assured me it was sellier and bellot and it came in those cans etc. The case even had a section where it was missing a few packages. I am not accusing anyone of being dishonest just wanted peoples feedback or to see if anyone has had similar ammo. Or how to further identify s/b ammo. I know there is another forum about this but cant find it. Cheers,

We receive/stock the same item.
The SKU from the supplier can be interpreted that it is Sellier & Bellot ammunition.

Again, this is just conjecture.
You should investigate head stamps on the ammunition to determine origins.

So headstamp is 71 / 67 google search has 71 as chinese / norinco year 67 if i read it correctly. Like i said the open spam can with all the markings scrubbed off/ removed seemed odd to me

You have bought chinese surplus, it is re-packed in the czech republic by a company called "Banzai" IIRC.

I am not sure why it is still being sold as s&b when it is not, funny thing is I have heard people say how good it shoots compared to "chinese surplus" lol.

Lol go figure thanks for you reply. I have contacted tenda and hope they make this right seeing as how it was about 10 percent more than the chinese advertised on their website.

Just an fyi i have contacted tenda and they have been good to deal with will offer / credit or return. Thanks Tenda! Sounds like it was an honest mistake/ mis communication from their supplier
