Real world Federal Fusion game experience?

150grain fusions shoot great out of my marlin 30-30. 8 bkacktails taken with nice exit holes from 20-100 yards. All but one deer were found dead where they stood. One went 25 yards with a double lung shot. Federal fusion are great deer bullets if your rifle will shoot them accurately.
 
A few years ago my friend Clint shot a mule deer with a Fusion bullet launched out of his .243. He hit the deer at ~100 yards broadside and the bullet took out both lungs and exited. The deer was dead in his tracks after a 30 yard death run. The only problem was that the edge of the 200 foot bank was 29 yards from where the deer was shot. ;) LoL The sight of a dead deer stuck in the crotch of an aspen tree 10 feet above the surrounding ground was a first for me.


Now that I think about it that bank Clint's deer got over was the same one that one of your deer fell down a few years ago MD. :) LoL

Know the bank well.
 
I have shot a few bears with Fusions. 150, 165 and 180 gr loads out of a .30-06. All were pass-throughs ( - 100yd shots) even when they hit bone. My rifle likes them. I find they are very effective. As long as your rifle groups well with them and you can place the bullet where it needs to go, then the Fusions are the ticket.

I watched a Hunter shoot a Fallow doe at not much further than 15 but less than 25 and the bullet 180gr Core lokt did shatter into a lot and did not exit, this among other personal experiences with CC bullets were that as mentioned above, 2800+ no good in close CC, and if u were constantly shootin that close then premium and mono comes into its own play, or you buy a 30-30 hey haha
