Really Big Black Bear

Yer right , i could care less about the Buick , they should have printed a pic of the bear . I'm a little suspicious of the weight . The last big black bear i heard of that was actually weighed on a Monistry of Transport scale was about 10 years ago up by Kapuskasing . The bear was hit by a tractor trailer and weighed in at somewhere around 750 pounds . I heard of one many years ago in a zoo in Wisconsin that was around 900 . 450 kilos is a big , big bear , if it's true .
we've had a couple of black bears tip the scales at over 800 lbs here in Manitoba. One was shot by poachers in a National park(the bear was featured once in Equinox magazine. The other was hit by a car around pine falls , natural resouces weighed the bear at over 800 lbs also.
Talked to my brother yesterday and showed him pictures of that Huge bear on my Digi camera(that I took just after the accident, which happened not too far from my bro's place ).He said that twice this fall he had a huge black bear wander through his place, once btwn. his house and garage . He said it looked like the arse-end was about 4 feet off the ground.(Probably the same bear).
Gave him #### for not telling me sooner .....I would have "set up" for it .
The pictures were not very good...too dark .( I also took Camcorder pictures...they didn't turn out too good either ....a combination of a Black bear laying on Black asphalt during pitch-Black night :roll: The accident happened about 7:30 at night ...pitch black . I went back to my kids place to get him and his half ton to pick up the bear , but when we got back some new arrival had claimed the bear
I estimated his weight at over 700 lbs.
Darryl Sidney, an outfitter picked up a road-killed bear in 1992 that weighed 726 pounds, gutted . It was killed on Two-mile corner....just outside of Dryden .

ive seen Black bears over 500 lbs befor when i was moose hunting.............i wish i hadnt have wasted my 2 tags on little bears

Well I did mention that bear, over a week ago, on JYC's thread about "Animal Magnetism....", but there didn't seem to be much interest, except by scoffers .atr said:
I sent, to my sister-in-law, a couple of pictures that I took of the bear shortly after the accident and she was able to enhance them quite a bit . Now if I can just figure out how to get them onto CGN(Hunt 101 won't let me on... I tried changing my forgotten password but they say that there is already someone on there with my username and email addy( hello ! that's me)...Guess I'll hafta start all over .)
More than 450kgs? That's on the plus side of 1000 lbs. Let's just say, I'd almost have to be there when it was weighed. I've seen a legitimate 650 lb blackie, and that thing was huge. Still, I saw the photos before the dreaded red X showed up in the keepas above post and it did look like a big mu-fu.
