Dunno about you guys, but I find myself really missing the days before the handgun freeze came into effect. I used to log into CGN and go right to the Pistols & Revolvers page on the EE, followed by 12(x) and then Pistols & Revolvers discussion here for all the latest & greatest news & banter.

Now, it's just not the same, anymore! :(

I bought and sold quiet a few handguns on the EE and it was indeed fun to find a particular model you wanted.

I also like looking for nice K98s but thats also done for now :(
 
why would K98 shopping be nixxed? Teh Mauser is not banned by name, just the M1908 brazilian mauser and mauser sporters with more than 10,000 joules of energy (generally speaking).

This is not law yet. Even Brazilion Mausers, (oh, those oh so dangerous Brazilains!) and sporter mausers are no banned. Its just an amendment put forward and there is nothing stopping you from buying. Nothing other than misinformation and your fear.

the k98 will be a variant of the 1908 mauser or mauser sporter very soon. The ones banned by name have nothing to do with the caliber. If one model is banned by name for being over 10kj then ALL others are banned too. That is not what the liberals want you to think but if you read the law then thats how it is

it is difficult to imagine how the liberal/ndp majority will not vote this into law. are their voters who support gun bans complain about banning guns suddenly?

K98 is a variant of 1908 and mauser sporter. dont forget how creative the popo is with finding new variants... and you can easily make the claim easily that a 1908 and k98 is the same thing or variant.


this isnt the time to buy a $4000 K98 ....
 
I definitely miss not seeing the handguns being posted. My search screen is still set up for contenders. Guess I can still buy barrels but the freeze put a stop on me finding a low number frame. I have a for digit serial number but always trying for a lower number. Also gave a decent idea of price if I found something local. Hopefully this crap gets turned around. A Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt would be nice. Couldn’t find one.

So true. But then again, I've found myself fondling my handguns at home more than ever.
 
They are banning the Ruger F'ing 1. A one shot rifle FFS.
With the definition of variant not defined, ANY bolt action can be lumped as a variant to the ones being banned.

Plus, do you really think any gun store is going to survive with 2/3 of firearms now prohibited?
Nothing is going to be left, in terms of an industry or much of a community, if we don't have a change of government in the next 18 months.

Yes me also but I would venture to say that no one his going to do anything without some encouragement. We should all be sending letters to every liberal or NDP MP. Except for the price of a piece of paper in your printer and an envelope it is free.

Let the know this even if is not true (they lie so you can too)

That you are a law abiding and tax paying family person living in Canada
That you disagree with the elements of C21 that effect legal and licensed gun owners
That you have supported and donated to them in the past
That you will not vote for them again and will be encouraging others in your family to do the same unless changes are made to C21 that effect legal and licensed gun owners.
That you also encouraged people to vote for Doug Ford in the Ontario election and they did

They need to hear this in writing and in an email (written submissions are always more effective that electronic email)

Same here, I used to log in and go straight to the Pistols EE then the Modern Sporting arms EE and see if there was anything worth persuing. Then I would head to the pistols forum followed by the black rifles. After the OIC it changed my habits quite a bit with a bigger focus on pistols. Now I have been reduced to looking at ads for guns I can no longer buy.
Just a shame.
 
Ya, I wasn’t quite sure what I liked so far , for the past 10 years I’ve been bouncing around, Glock, S&W,S/A , Uberti/ Pietta/Colt.
Almost had it nailed down, just need about 10 + more years to decide.

I really need an SAA clone
 
I agree with the OP. I do miss the EE pistols and revolver exchange. Like most of you I purchased a number of restricted firearms and now I find myself checking the the Ontario Transfer thread to see what number they are on for processing. I have not given up hope that our dictator will be thrown out of office.

Our rights and freedoms are being infringed by criminal WEF whore puppets.

They are not going to relent until they are stopped.

In fact they become more bold as each day passes.
 
Op is preaching to the choir here. Always the same circuit for me Handguns/Accessories/Prohibs/Antiques then back to latest posts. Now I only check the latest forecast of when I might expect my last chance buys in the queue of Ontario transfers. I should have been a seller but for the most part I just could not bring myself to do it, it made economic sense to sell but I enjoy collecting and some of those keepers took me years to find. If I sold them, I would never have enough time or luck to replace them. Are they really so stupid as to think a revolver that was around at the time of Custer and the Little Big Horn is a threat to society and must be destroyed? There were only 1000 Colt Model 1878 revolvers purchased for the Canadian Militia and the Riel Rebellion, I have no idea of how many survived to now but it seems clear the Liberals are going to ensure how many there will be going forward.
I am all in until the end of the fight..........
