Really, really nice guns coming up for auction

Holy crap just when a guy is feeling contented and unwanting you go and make me feel poor as dirt.
Can't wait to hear what the President's FOX goes for. Hope the buyer has the good sense to Hunt with it and not hang it in a vault permenant.

Yah, I thought Cody was selling off its collection;) A lot of this stuff is museum quality so I wonder if any of the museums have a procurement fund.

Some of this is the best of the best or rare, so to have a chance to publicly obtain is a rarity itself, so act before it's locked away in a dark and dingy room for 40 years...again.

Some of those firearms are rather nice, what caught my eye....H&H Model 51 in .308.....wait, what????

Probably a typo. H&K - Heckler and Koch. That piece doesn't scream Holland and Holland. :D

I'd concern myself with that Sharps 1874 with the Freund Brothers conversion. I sure liked the one of Steve Garbe's he had shown me in his shop. He does them to Shilohs and they do look neat. As for the rest... wowie wow wow! I'll bet that Ma Deuce will bring in about 90 to 100,000.

The James D Julia people are the ones that did the auction for the Bruce Stern collection (thats the one with the photos floating around the 'net showing an underground vault full of military stuff that incorrectly says it belongs to Charlton Heston).
I think that collection set a record, somewhere around 14 million dollars!

I want that Hotchkiss Mark I in .303!!!

It's the same type we used in WWI, including tripod.

Too bad it would have to be dewatted to come here, though :(

First I would buy the Rodda 4 bore double rifle, then the WINCHESTER 1886 50-110, then the FN D model and might as well take the FN G series as well, and throw in a 410 Parker VHE and a LC Smith 410 feild grade, that would do for now, hahahah ,Dale in dreamland!

They are Sweet :D
Getting shells sucks tho im still waiting for a custom order of 14 Ga shotgun brass shells.

How hard would brass shells be to make? We have CNC lathes at my work operated by a gunnut and I always figured I could get some made if I found a 14ga sxs.

Brass shells are not machined they are pressed in dies very quickly, a very heavy press drops on the dies the impact melts the brass and forces it in to the die form. CNC can make the dies then you need a big press.
Making a gun is easy making a cartridge is not.
