The new sleeve....weld the old handle on, or drill and tap and screw it in?

pics are really out of focus for definite ID. Hurts just looking at them.
The gunsmith I used to work with would love that project. But he never charged for stuff like that. No way you could.

I love to see old guns brought back from the brink. But I have to agree with the others. In this case I think the poor old thing is beyond the brink. If all you are putting into it is time, then I guess have fun. But if you have to sink any money into it you do realize that you will probably be kissing it goodbye. Also, will it be safe to shoot afterwards. Seeing the outside of the barrel , one has to wonder what the bore is like.

It does have the look of an Estonia. When theres no paint to watch dry or clouds to count, sit down with some WD40 and steel wool, mainly around the barrel in front of the action. You MAY be able to find remnants of the makers mark there. On the other hand, if you've never refurbed a firearm before, this is a golden oppurtunity. Just don't try shooting it before getting it checked out by a competant gunsmith.

if its rare or a collectors item fix er up

if its some common pos that no one collects and has no heirloom value to you id hand it over to the police the next time they offer a good amount of cash for "any unwanted guns" then go out and buy a new gun with the cash.....

Its usually $75 around here
