Really sick and tired of Para Ordnance "Customer Service"

.....and still people post questions about Para and wonder if I'm sane when I say they should buy a Norinco instead
Yeah, at least with a Nork if it stops working you can just throw it in the trash and not feel bad....
STI for a 1911....best customer service in the industry, care about Canadians, and have a very decent dealer here.

That sounds like a nightmare! I don't know why people use that warranty company in Quebec for all Canadians. I've tried to contact them one time and it wasn't pretty.

Wow that is crazy, you have the patience of a monk.. after a few months I would be phoning them weekly. After 6 months I would be phoning them daily. If I was you I would be phoning more often, and if they don't have a replacement of that model or similar in stock I would be demanding that they send me a model up.

I hope you get it figured out, hopefully you've learned that you can't leave it up to them and you start phoning often to check in on the status. That is the reason I don't buy from companies with crap reputations, I would rather spend the extra money and have peace of mind.

Sorry for your hassle, let us know what happens.

Yeah, this is US Para junk we are talking about...

Ummmmm.....my Canadian made Para SSP wasn't the epitome of quality, either. After Para-normal experiences with their customer disservice that left me with nothing but "Wedgies" I sold it....

Para was not much better when they were made in Canada, nothing but problems with them that I saw. Could not keep sights on the gun, slide and frame cracks, slide stop cut rolling up at the corner, broken extractors, non functioning triggers, I could go on...

I have to chime in here.

There are some separate issues being blended here.

1) Distributors usually have an agreement with the manufacturer about dealing with warranty issues. Those agreements vary from no warranty at all to no questions asked replacement, and everything in between. In the end, the distributor is limited in dealing with warranty issues by factory parts and replacement support, or the set asides built in to the price. When the manufacturer will replace a defective product, if it's not in stock for immediate replacement by the distributor, they have to wait for the next shipment.

2) Manufacturers can't always dictate the level of spare parts and inventory the distributors carry. In some cases, the distributor or the manufacturer use an at arms length company to provide service.

3) How the manufacturer and distributor provide customer service and support is very often a make or break issue when making or extending an agreement.

Good-Grief what a nightmare, I was about to contact Para in AM about my disaster, I got the pistol after 12 months, and it shot 24" Low, so paras answer new sights, well I put new sights on it and guess what same issue. I thought it was me so I let others try it and same thing. Based on what I have read in this thread, I will be extra cautious before licking the stamp !

I sent my para in, it went to Quebec, the 1911 was condemned and I had a Newer Updated Para-Black OPs within 4 weeks delivered to my door. Outstanding Warranty and Service.

I have some issues with my Walther P22, they never even reply to me. we should really boycott anything NS bring in, that should teach them a lesson or send them belly up.

Except, of course for the fact that they screwed up making gun that was designed over 100 years ago, and their QC didn't catch it. These things can be made by hand in caves using a wood fire to provide the heat treat, (and have been) and work perfectly, and PO couldn't get it right with a fleet of CNC mills?

Sorry to hear about your Para. I have been a Para hater since i bought my Canadian Forces edition and saw how garbage this gun was. There's a lot of threads about those but the short story is it scratched if you rubbed your finger nail against it, the rails were off so you couldn't mount a light/laser. A lot of guys with the double stacked ones had perpetual feed issues. Worthless.

LOL I Sent back my CF Edition and they recognized how many issues their were. Para Replaced it free of charge with their know Blackhawk edition ... shoots awesome love it no issues (yet), BUT they don't use NS anymore, maybe why no one is getting a response, contact para directly they looked after everything immediately.
