Really? The end of cheap SKS's?

Canadian tire $199. !!!!!!!!! SKS. Numbers matching!?!?! Its like the numbers matching on a Chevy cavalier! Big deal!!!! Buy it, shoot it, clean it! Or is it buy, clean shoot!?!?!

Canadian tire on Leila in Winnipeg just got in a fresh shipment of SKS. About 300 for me to choose from this morning. Lol

Going to give them a call someday... My CT has nothing but horrid mix-master refurbs.

I hit the Chinese SKS bug too late, as per usual. At least I got my hands on a really nice one from Wiemajack.

So much for the end of cheap SKSs, picking a Chinese military one up for $100 tomorrow, brand new in the grease. I remember like 5 years ago when everyone said that the end of surplus ammo was coming too. Mostly BS.
The same was said about cheap Lee-Enfields, .303 British, and 8mm mauser ammo. These were WWII ammo stockpile. Now, we are feeding our pigs with Cold War surplus. It is not new production surplus we are using, but old, non renewed stocks.... The last Chinese x39 crate I opened was from 1971 and my previous Romanian crate was dated 1986. With Chinese ammo no longer being able to ship, and east-block ammo getting awfully close to the end of the Cold War. With consumption ramping up (more SKS in the market), shortage *is* coming.

Where? From whom?
I would love to add another Chinese SKS to my collection, especially for a "brand new in grease". Thanks.

Even if you buy one chinese in grease from a private sale for 10$ the reality is :brand new military is gone.

I usually buy Barnaul, it is $8/box of 20 which is still bloody cheap for a centerfire cartridge. It is new manufacture, if that is all I had to buy from now on I'd be fine, it works good and is reasonably cheap to shoot.

That is all I buy now (for plinking) as well. Cheap(er), clean burning, and accurate. Excellent stuff. This reminds me that I need to stock up. :)

It is priced decent, but I shoot too many rounds in an outing so it's all surplus for me.

Got 1 wood 1 laminate from tradex, both in decent condition, only thing odd was some sand in the actions of both of them.....lol
