What would your recommendation for barrel length if I wanted something for both skeet and trap? I was thinking of getting something in the middle like 30” to shoot skeet with IC or FC and shoot trap with IM or FC. Will that work?

I personally. Prefer 26" barrels on my double guns and 21 to 24" on semi autos.
Thet said 28" is the most common field gun with 30" being the most common sporter gun length.
I shoot low gun and fast so I prefer shorter barrels. Most clay clay shooters like heavier longer guns to smooth out the swing

If you look around a skeet or sporting clays field today, the average O/U barrel length will likely be 30". I find that my F-3 with 32" barrels, swings like my K-20 with 30" barrels. My old Citori Skeet with 28" barrels, from the 1980s ,balanced about the same, because of the heavier barrels, and beavertail fore end. I personally prefer a little longer barrels, as they swing smoother, and at 195lbs, I can swing them plenty fast enough.
