Try here, seems others are in the same boat. Comments have notes like this; "that screw you are speaking of is not a screw....it's a drift pin made to look like a screw...use a pin punch and knock it out...just like ya do on an 870 pump...to seperate the fore end from your bolt ...there's a small hole in the left side of the receiver...pull the forend all the way back and you will see a small detent ball through that small hole..use a small punch or a small nail and push down on that detent ball while you gently push forward on the forend...that will free your forend rod from your bolt...once you remove the trigger plate..."

my second question can i shoot 3" shells ????? ..i looked under the barrel and it was stamped 70 that would be for a 2 3/4" shell ..the gun owner who gave me the Beretta shot 3" shell"s ..

70 = 70 mm or 2 3/4" as we know it in North America. 3" in European markings on guns are 76mm. So if it had a 3" chamber it would be stamped 76. The previous owner was obviously negligent of what his gun was marked or didn't care enough to check and took the chance. Up to you but I know I wouldn't be forcing a 3" round out of a 2 3/4" chamber!
