So, to me it looks like they got you hard on the labour. The $300+ bedding job was unnecessary, as even I would have sent that back, and I'm not a world-class gun builder!
I have Talley rings, and I sure don't see a need to lap them, but if I did, I wouldn't pay $125 to have it done...
AFAIK B&C only inlets for standard channels. You order a Rem L/A stock, and it fits a .270. If you want a magnum, it needs to be opened up, but the misaligned bedding block is an obvious flaw. I had to open mine up for the magnum barrel...
As for what to do, I don't know. By altering the stock like he did, I'm sure there is no warranty on it now...
