I am looking for a place (or if someone has used stuff they would like to part with) to get some reamers for my smith to do a job for me. I really don't want to have to pay the big bucks to have it special made.

#1 303 sav reamer and go / no go gauge

#2 (for him) 30-221 reamer

I am doing a project on an old 1899 sav and I want it kept original. I know that there are lots of good reasons to change it to 30-30, but that is not my first choice. I have plenty of factory shells and 3 more 303's in the safe, so the cartridge is not an issue. It is also a pre 90,000 so it has the sqare back bolt that limits the cartridge.

If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Blair

"...lots of good reasons to change it..." None without dropping its collector value.
"...303 sav...reamer and go/no-go gauge..." A .30-30 WCF headspace guage will do it for your .303. Clymer makes 'em. They sell reamers too. clymer@clymertool.com Toll-Free Phone: (877)REAMERS Phone: (248)853-5555 Fax: (248)853-1530. Add the W's. .clymertool.com
Pacific Tool and Guage does guages and reamers too. pacpes@medford.net 1-541-826-5808 FAX: 541-826-5304. Add the W's.

Mind you, I suspect the reamers may be a special order from either. In any case, unless the chamber is being set back, you likely won't need the reamer for your .303.

The 303 sav barrel has been relined so there is presently no chamber. I am building this one as a shooter. There is some romance to me to hunt with a 100+ year old gun and cartridge. It is perfect for the coastal blacktail deer! Thanks for the sites.
