Can't order a chamber reamer of any kind from the States unless I've got a 'commerce licence', is that the same as an IRC? With regards to purchasing them in Canada, can ordinary civilians without a gunsmith's licence purchase them from a Canadian source, or are they considered prohibited devices for non industry people?

Where did this come from? Reamers are a cutting tool. Nothing more, nothing less. There should be no restrictions whatsoever. Regards, Bill.

Huh? Like Bill said!

About the only restriction I could imagine would be for the .50 bmg only because the State Dept has a hard on for the .50 and it's tooling.

Otherwise check with Brownell's. It's a tool not a gun part so the export limits do not apply

Whoever gave you that information hasn't got a clue.

All you need to do is order it from any one of three or four outfits, and send the cheque. No duty, just GST. Same as you would pay if you purchased it in Canada.
