Hello there,
Soon, I will ream my first barrel, a .22 LR match chamber, to realize an old personnal challenge.
My lathe set-up is ready and even I made my own floating reamer holder. I just need to order my reamer.
My question is:
Do I absolutely need a rougher reamer for the .22 LR or if I could only use the finishing match reamer ?
It is sure that the dial gauge will be installed, I will ream very slowly, I will often remove and clean chips and will use plenty of oïl.
I was wondering if the use of a rought reamer before the finishing reamer would be really needed only when we form a large centerfire chamber. The chamber of a .22 LR is only few .001'' over the bore diamerter.
Thank you in advance for your answers
