My feelings on this is I like the gun when it works it shoots into less then a inch if I do my part. It has shown extraction issues from day one. First go around they reset headspace worked for what maybe 60 to hundred rounds ( I wasn't keeping track) Sent it off this spring for hard extraction They polished chamber. Got it back first round no extraction. Can chamber rounds and extract fine if unfired. tried Federal/Remington/ Nosler no problem. fire any of them no extraction. All the factory loads have no signs of pressure all have been fired in my Savage10 BAS/T and My M1A no problems. From What I can see chamber is not smooth. but that is hard to judge. And yes I have checked my rail mounting and no there ore no screws threads into action/bolt chamber. So To Me it seems to be a chamber issue. I was extremely reluctant to send it off as first time was around a full year gone. 2nd time about a month. but I sent it direct myself first time was through the distributor. so now it is 3 times out for repair. To me it is a chamber issue from new and it is warranty and I don't think I should be paying. but I was trying to get some insight from some more experienced people on here. I got some good advise and some not so good. I also had a few that jumped on somethings I said and right away It all was my fault. I took it all in and decided as long as Savage is willing to try and find and fix the issue I am going to deal with them. I just hope I live long enough to see it. lol
If it still won't run after 3 trips tell them you want a replacement.Don't get too attached to one gun as all Savage CF bolt guns will shoot MOA with ammo they like.Harold
