Can't speak to your specific purchase, but I've generally been underwhelmed by NC Star's quality. They build to a "price point" and it seems, you get what you pay for - almost. I got a Wheeler Engineering sight tool from one of the gentlemen on here. Not cheap, but I saved a few bucks from buying new and it's in mint shape.
Check out the surfaces that are going to be against your slide and if they make you nervous, put some duct tape on your slide, at the point of contact. Conversely - if you feel like a drive to Oshawa, bring your slide out here and we can use the Wheeler - it works like a dream.
