Reason why m305 is a good hunting rig

I'll just put these pics here..... the moose didn't care what rifle i was using.
a.308 is a .308 , the mechanism igniting the primer and setting that bullet in motion is moot.

Ar15 rifles used to be used by hunters in the early days before they became restricted.
Colt provided two factory five round magazines with the ar15 when new
I used one for many year's and miss using it
Colt made some very nice improvement 's since 1966 on their AR15 rifles for hunters

My favorite larger round plinker, Took a few shots was hooked, liked it straight away
Trigger was decent and accuracy was about expected which i was pleased enough with for my needs.
I have used it hunting for bear and have not been let down.Yes it is loud to cycle, always carry loaded ,but every sound in that moment sounds like a scream.
It has it's quirks and a few tweaks are always needed, same reason i also hunt with a bow the challenge.I like to tinker and tweak where needed.
As for a scope not worth the effort and cost of set-up,long range past 200 for me is always a scoped bolt gun, old eyes.
For a 308 for practical and ergonomic reasons would choose a Troy ,would i ever get rid of it no.

Roger that Can14 !!!

Those were the good ole days !!!

Guys always get ticked off when they hear about deer hunting with a 223 but I never had a deer go more that 5 yards when hit with my Colt AR15 A2 Delta HBAR with 69 grain SMKs, and grounds hogs... OMG... you'd think I hit them with a 308.

Even though I had 30 round mags, I never needed them, but I sure liked having them.... kinda like driving the speed limit in a Ferrari.
