Reasonable Price for EE for AR Build

Hi All,
I had made an AR build using the Colt Canada Upper [IUR]

Specs are as follows:
Colt Canada Upper [IUR] 15.7" barrel
Aero Precision Lower Receiver
Daniel Defense Lower Parts Kit
Daniel Defense 6 Position mil spec Carbine Receiver extension
Daniel Defense Ar-15 buffer, buffer spring and Castle Nut
B5 Systems Sop mod Stock
BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle
Brownells MPT/HPT 9310 NITRIDE M16 BCG

Magpul MBUS rear and front sights.

I have had less than 100 rounds through this because i find the upper too heavy and i would like to get rid of it.

What is a fair price for this build?

My opinion (not worth much)...I have almost the same rifle for sale (except mine has a Colt lower). I listed it for $1250 and have sold it 4 times only to have the guys back out (somewhat irritating I must admit)...I'm presently on #5, and we'll see how that goes. I'd say around $1050 for yours due to the Aero lower...everyone wants Colt. Less if you want it to go fast. AR's are a buyers market...

This opinion is perplexing to me because AP manufactures AR receivers for many major brands by stamping other brands on it. I have not experienced any quality issues with a receiver with their name on it.

well because people would want a matching set: colt lower, colt bcg, colt upper.
 
Curious why the AP lower brings the value down?

There is a supporting dealer on here that claims everything that isn't AP is $#|+?

Primarily because it's value is lower to begin with. It also makes it less desirable because the gun is mismatched.
 
I agree with the comments about the lower and BCG lowering value. I sold a similar rifle, same upper as yours, but all Colt - complete factory Colt M4 marked lower, Colt BCG, Colt Canada stock - for $1500ish IIRC. I'd expect yours to go for $1100ish, maybe $1200ish tops.
 
Sorry my bad. The lower is Spike's Tactical. i am keeping the AP for my other build.

BTW nothing wrong with AP. I have a complete 10.5" FDE rifle from AP and its damn good. Out my 1/2 dozen Ar's its the best. COLT Canada is all hype. That upper weighs a ton. No one is shooting full auto here.

I am breaking down as follows:

UPPER (IUR) : $850 (paid a 900+tax)
BCG : $125
CH : $75
Magpul BUIS :$100

Or $1100 for the whole upper.

Lower, I paid about $450-$475. I would think $400 is fair. If it sells, it sells, else I keep it for another build. Same goes for the other parts.

So I'm not the only one it happens to....
 
It's unfortunate that there is a bit of "fashion" related to our hobby/sport. I could give a crap what name is on the side as long as it does what I want it to do. I'll concede I paid $30 more than I had to for my Spikes lower, but the selector labelling makes me giggle.

Is it about the weight, or have you just decided you want something else? I loath to loose money on a deal, sometimes it's necessary, but if the loss is too great I keep it...unless someone is twisting my arm.

I chuckle a bit about people calling an IUR heavy. I can see if you are a serious competitor or perhaps have a shoulder injury (fortunately my left one is my good one), 7.5 lbs is pretty light in my experience. Why take the loss on a really nice rifle? My HBAR isn't what I'd call a pig, but swinging it requires a little more force, esp. stopping it, so I appreciate why guys like a lighter rifle...it serves multi uses so I wouldn't have it any other way though. Also my idea of heavy is a little skewed due to my first job, if it was heavy I got to haul it.

I am a big fan of AP. I have DD M4V1, SW MP15 T (full rail HBAR version). I love these rifles and would not sell it.

I took it out last night and its actually not that heavy, decent good weight. Paid good money for this rifle and I may end up not selling it. You may have changed my mind. Thanks.
