hi guys.

i've shot a few American Eagle copper coated bulk .22's out of GSG 1911.

flawless for about 200 rounds, then it started having some feeding issues for first few rounds in every magazine.

but pushed thru and fired another 200 or so. fun as heck. (i did shoot some wd-40 down the feeding ramp area to hose off some gunk.)

cleaned afterwards, lots and lots of dirt in the gun and the magazine. (it was possibly the mag causing the mis feed.)

so i'm wondering. among bulk ammo's, which one would be reasonably clean?

i've got couple hundred CCI mini mag coming my way, but i don't want to burn thru it like i did with AE ammo..

thanks for suggestions

I haven't notice a whole lot of difference with bulk packs. The blazers shoot good, and i've never had a ftf or fte with either a nylon 66 or ruger mk III 22/45. Winchester 555/333, wildcats, winchester target, and AE seem good too.

The only ones I have noticed that are dirtier seem to be the Federal Champion bulk. Probably something to do with all the light pops mixed in with the bangs, leavign unburnt powder. Also, i have experienced the highest rate of misfires, stovepipes and jams with the Federal champion. At 10 bucks more per brick to boot.

Regardless, of ammo i give the actions a blow-out with non chlorinated brake cleaner every couple hundred rounds. I've come to the conclusion that .22s are just dirty :)

Another for the Federals. My Marlin 60 also behaves flawlessly with them in the tube so they are just all-around good for me.

Winchester Dynapoints seem to be fairly clean as well, but my Marlin has issues trying to feed and eject them...

I've tried the Winny's, Federals and Blazers. I like the CCI Blazers the best. Have had no issues with them so far and my 597 VTR is very picky about the ammo it eats!!

Everyone knows any rimfire ammo by remmington is crap

It's the only ammo I've ever tried that I would call dirty.

The Vipers wouldn't even work in my 10/22 and Wholesale took the brick back with 5 missing because they sold me the 10/22 at the same time and Mike was embarrassed that they would sell me the 2 together and send me on my way. They are experience and know better.

now I do too

Found a brick of Rem Hyper Vel, filthy nasty stuff. Shoot Champions almost exclusively, only clean the action and brush off the muzzle, the crown builds up a little fouling.

Blazers are what I shoot. Remington is crap. Theres a dud in every box and they are filthy. With Blazer I get a dud every couple thousand rounds at best and very reliable inbetween.

OK.. so, Federal 525 bulk, and blazers, eh. i'll try them next time.

I tried Win 333 copper plated HV HP today. and
Win Xpert HV, lead HP. Xpert was dirtier by visual(more smoke?)

i can barely even see the bulls eye at 25 yard, let alone focus on the sight and the X at the same time... i don't understand how people are using pistol for 25 yards... and I have 1.75 eye sight, both eyes. must be really good to have steady arms like that.

finished off the win 333 ammo today. combined, i probably shot about 430 rounds, at least. it started to gunk up and FTE'ed at around 300 round mark. had a heck of time trying to get rid of the lead in the barrel once i got back home. i'm only gonna buy jacketed or plated ammo now...

Winchester Super-X won't feed --GSG1911

tried tonight

CCI Blazer,
Federal Blue box,
Winchester Super-X

Blazer, seems somehow dirty. good kick though.
Federal, first round was a dud. but the rest, feels even better than blazer.

Winchester Super-X... won't feed, because the casing won't fit into the chamber. i have to tap the slide after almost every round. so weird.

other GSG owners, do you find that? so far, Winchester 333 box has been the best. then AE.

i did ~400 blazers in my ruger mkiii the last time i went shooting and the barrel looked spotless when i took it apart for cleaning. had pretty good luck with winchester dynapoint-GT also
