Rebarrel 3006 to?

You can re-barrel to 6.5 creedmoor but the magazine is, of course, a bit long (quite a bit). The PRC requires a magnum boltface and, again, the magazine is long.

OP, you just don't give enough information to answer your question.

If you've satisfied your caliber requirement to be 6.5mm, there are several options available that would be more suitable to your action.

6.5x55 would be my first choice if I wasn't planning on hand loading because it's available off the shelf in most well stocked gun shops.

If you're hand loading the 6.5-06 comes to mind but that could easily be filled with the 270 Winchester.

IMHO you should stay away from the 6.5 magnums for a couple of reasons. Mostly availability of cartridges, components. They are noted for burning throats quickly.

The action would easily handle the cartridges you list as well as the 260 Remington. Likely they would feed well without making any alterations to the magwell/follower.

If you decide to convert that action to a belted magnum or Super Short Magnum cartridge likely you will have to alter/replace the magwell/follower and make alterations to the receiver guides so that the cartridges will feed reliably.

I have the same idea. I have a Remington 700 Long Range on 30-06 and it shoots great but have thought of rebatreling it to a 6.5
I had looked at 6.5 x55 , 6.5-06 , and just a long action 260. As I have a 260 for competition rifle I thought of doing a long action 260 as I have all the brass, dies etc.
