Hey all,

Just looking for a ball-park figure on what the cost of labour will be for my 375 Taylor project. The work that I need done is:

-Swap out the stock barrel from my Mauser action and replace it with my pre-made and threaded Pac Nor barrel, and then have it properly headspaced.

-Also would like to install iron sights on the barrel as well. Have already bought the sights, just need them installed. Will require drilling and tapping 4 holes in total, with no sweating involved.

What do you guys figure would be the cost of that work?

Also, will the gunsmith need a few dummy rounds made up to help with the work? This rifle is a wildcat, so I'm not sure if having those around would be helpful or not.

$100 to headspace the barrel, assuming pac-nor deep chambers it, not short chambers. drill and tap is around $25 per hole

if it is already a short mag (7mm, 300 Win, 338 win) it will feed as well as it did before. otherwise add $$
 
Oh I apologize for not mentioning it, the rifle is originally a 7mm, so it should be a fairly straight forward fix. Cheers -Cameron
 
Loaded DP ammo won't help with headspacing, but it wouldn't hurt providing them for feeding tests. Any smithy will very likely have to find and purchase headspace guages for it. You'll be paying for them too.

$25 a hole!!! :eek: Cripes that is more than twice what I charge!
