Rebarrel service

Does anyone know of a gunsmith who could rebarrel a prohib to restricted (106mm+ barrel) in the montreal area (or anywhere in canada that would do it remotely, with shipping involved).

Also what would be the procedure? example: I would buy a prohib pistol on EE, have it transfered and sent to the rebarelling gunsmith, he does the work and transfer/ship it back to me?

I'm in Nova Scotia and I don't know anyone who does that work in Quebec, but I've asked Barry Jensen of Bits of Pieces in BC to do this work a few times. It's always been very, very good. I'm sure there are others who do it.

The procedure I've followed is to pay the seller (gun remains seller's property), the seller sends the gun to Bits of Pieces, Barry does the work and also re-registers the gun from "prohib" to "restric", notifies the seller who then transfers the gun to me, and then Barry
sends me the gun. I've paid all costs associated with the project.

This has been done a few times for me, has always been first quality work, and I've never had any sort of problem. You should be prepared for a wait of some months. There are apparently quite a few people having this work done. Maybe another 'smith can do it faster, but I've never been in a hurry about it and I like the quality of Barry's work. PM me if you want to discuss this more, but if you call or email Bits of Pieces, I'm sure Barry will tell you everything you need to know.

Armco can do it as well....

Depending on the type of pistol........... I know that Armco can as well. I was going to get him to do a P-12 for me a few months back and the price was very reasonable.... however, I missed out on the P12.
