I got a used tikka t3 heavy barrel ss in 243. I've probably put over a thousand rounds in it and no idea how many it had before. I want to rebarrel it for 308. Is it worth it or should I just buy another rifle? I have no idea what it would cost, I'm close to vamcouver but could travel for good gunsmith.

Agreed. A custom barrel and chamber is 9-1000 for a non-carbon finer barrel.
That's seems reasonable to me for a high quality barrel and gunsmith time. I just want stainless steel. I know barrels cost a lot to import thanks to our stupid customs and gunsmith time is not cheap.

I think your cheapest option for a stainless barrel is international barrels. They do chamber jobs as well.

I’ve had Gary Flach do work for me in the past and he’s a skilled gunsmith and he has a quick turnaround time. Bighorn Sales has a good supply of barrels from other makers. Ive bought actions and barrels from them. Ive went with Benchmark barrels myself because Bighorn had the contour I wanted in stock. His prices are competitive as well.
