I'm lookin at a 1867 antique rolling block that's been converted to 50/70. My plan is to effectively waste a lot of money to get something worthless and unquestionably unsellable after. I'd like to re barrel this old timer to 25/35.
What all is involved in doing this. The rim size is different. Is there any other problems I'm going to face?

My goal is to have the action case colored along with all the other metal parts. 22" blued barreled. 3 leaf rear express sight with hooded front sight with flip up ivory night sight. New Zealand hardwood for stock and forearm.
This will be a walking stalking type rifle for coyotes. I realize this gun will take Time and a lot of money to complete

No reason why it couldn't be done, so the extractor will need modification. The firing pin tip might be bigger than necessary.
Given the very short action length, 22" barrel is going to give you a carbine. I'd be inclined to use a longer barrel for a classic rifle appearance.

I have a nice Remington 1 1/2 in .32 rimfire, with a poor bore. I really should get it rebored, converted to centerfire, and returned to service.

How is the .32 rimfire size in relation to the new .17 WSM? That may be another option. Or not.

Yeah, barrel, extractor, and firing pin maybe, and you then must resist the urge to go whole hog and put nice wood, case hardening, etc. onto it. Pretty straightforward to make or modify one of the sliding extractors, a little more involved if it has the newer style that the Swede's used.

Cheers
