Rebarreling a Husky 1600

I have a Husky 1600 in 30/06 that I would like to rebarrel to 9.3 x 62. Does anyone know of a gunsmith with a 9.3 x 62 reamer that does good work? What are the price ranges of new barrels and installation? I live in Manitoba but I'm not afraid to ship the gun off for work.

Check out Bits of Pieces in BC. They have pre-chambered and threaded Heym barrels in 9.3 x 62 as far as I can remember. I got one in 9.3 x 64, and hopefully my smith will be done fiting it soon. I really don't know who would have the proper reamer, though.

I've looked at Trade Ex but the 9.3x62's without issues ( cracked stocks, rust, grinding marks, winter bolt knobs etc. ) go pretty high, and I like the idea of a brand new barrel.

A quality barrel WITH install is going to add some serious cost to your project rifle.

Close to $600 when the dust settles.

Maybe I'd be better off to save a bit of extra cash and just buy a new CZ. Then I'd still have my 30/06. I knew it wouldn't be cheap, I was hoping around $500 but after talking to a few people it sounds more like $600-$700. I can get my hands on a new CZ for about $1000. A good excuse for a new rifle. Thanks for the input.
