Hey guys,

A little while ago I bought a Glock 19 on the EE. Right now it is in my dads name, and I would like to stick a restricted barrel in it, and was wondering how to go about doing this?

What is the legal process for doing this, can I just buy a Restricted length barrel, stick it in and phone the CFC? or does a qualified person have to do this?

The 2nd part of this question is about what I should get and how to install the barrel... Can one just drop this barrel in, or does it take a bit of smithing?

I have seen that Lone wolf has a few different types of barrel for the Glock 19. For example Stainless Vs. Blued, Ported barrel or regular type. Although I am not really sure what to get, would a ported barrel be best? Also, are there any other options besides "Lone Wolf" the logo is kind of ugly IMO, but I guess I can tolerate it if that's what it takes to make this thing restricted.

One last question, what happens to the old barrel?? It's nearly brand new, I think 150 rounds through it...

BTDT a few times,
This requires a certified VERIFIER to confirm barrel length,
right now I am waiting on a G27 change over from Prohib to restricted ...
so far two weeks with no word back,

good luck with this one,

The barrel should drop in. I have a Lonewolf without the dumb logo. Take it to a gunsmith and he can do the transition and the prohib barrel will have to be left. Even though I have 12(6) and have a G19 I can't have a "prohibited device" in my home.
Also don't bother with the ported barrel. There is almost no recoil with the Lone Wolf barrel in a G19 I have found.

Why would you do that? It's worth a damn sight more as a 12(6) than it is turned into just another long-barrel 27.

Tell you what, I'll get you a brand new restricted G27 and trade it for your old 12(6) G27. You win, I win and the gov't loses because an "evil" gun is still evil.
