Rebarreling Kimber 84l

Gary spun on a benchmark for me in .338-06, I believe a modified #2 contour?? finished at 23”.
Rifle weight with 3-15x44mm vx5hd w/alumina caps is right at 7lbs.
 
I did mean the 7x57 but I thought 140 and wrote 130.

A buddy of mine swears by those Amax in the 7mm RM, you have good results with them?

It has become one of my favourite rifles though I have not had the pleasure of taking any game with it yet. I quite enjoy shooting it as well.

That’s a Real Nice Rifle ! What hand load works Well in it ?

Mine is built on a older M700 action - fliuted bolt -skeletonize bolt handle and hollowed knob - recontoured bolt shroud- 24 “ rem magnum contour Douglas barrel -Timney trigger - B&C stock Leupold 3x9 vx11 with German #4 reticle in Talleys. Weights 127 oz A hair under 8 lbs Feels great to shoot . RJ

I have not started loading for it yet. To get started I have 100 factory loaded 210NPT Weatherby(Norma) loads to work through for brass. Once I have shot it all off my first attempt will be working up a load with 210SS2’s with an aim for 2800fps.

Your 700 sounds like a nice rifle as well. A floor plate would be nice to have at times.

I haven’t killed anything with them but they’re some accurate and I’d imagine they well perform like any other heavy for caliber cup and core 7mm bullet at a modest velocity (well).

I’d be leery to use them in my 7WSM and I default to the 160 accubond
 
I think buddy uses them to shoot moose off the hood of his truck at 100 yards and I know he isn’t he isn’t too concerned about pouring the smoke on. Small sample size and I’m sure there are better magnum bullets available though
 
No that is somewhere around 2.83 iirc

The longer max box is the 84l, should work well for 57 mm cases and allow for a bit of extra seating length unlike the 30-06 length cases
