Reboring a rifle barrel

Any one know of any smiths out there that can rebore a .458 barrel to .505 or .510?? Or rebore a .308 to .358? Dont worry both barrels have plenty of meat to work with...
How much does it cost to do this? Can he resleeve back to stock diameter or only bore and rifle oversize?
When I spoke to Ron Smith last year, the cost of a rebore and rifling was almost exactly the same as the cost of a new barrel.
Downside was that you paid for the work, whether it worked out or not. If the barrel is of a steel that is clean cutting and it all works out, you're in like Flynn. If it has any hard spots, or is tough and does not want to be cooperative, you will need to buy a barrel plus pay for the rebore work that didn't.
Maybe someone else works cheaper, but he does not. Fair enough. I figured that the guaranteed results from a new barrel made more sense.

Ron Smith, Wyeborne, AB (near Three Hills) 403 631- 2405. He does excellent work.
The thing that you need to remember about reboring...yes, there is risk however Ron is very good. It saves stockwork; bedding; any unique features on the barrel like 1/4 ribs, sights and most importantly lettering. If none of this is a priority, as already mentioned, it's about the same price to go with a new barrel.
I've seen some very good rebores of old Winchesters and Mauser sporters....wouldn't be the same with a new barrel
