Greetings all..

Been thinking on finding something to play with as a winter project,....possibly an Enfield..for those who know,..is it diffacult to source the parts to do so,..say for a #1 Mk3,or a #4..??..There are sporters turning up all the time and I could use an Enfield or 10..What say you?
 
Go for it, be warned they are addictive, I am up to 6 now. 2 full wood, JC, and long branch sporters... L42a1 clone..... Blah blah

I got most of my parts from this site, put an ad on EE for WTB. There are great resources on here and very helpful people!
Also, marstar, tradeex, numrich, eBay will have what you need.
I buy many many items from the UK eBay site, excellent sellers and postage is very resonable.
It may take a little longer to arrive , but it's worth it.

I have a few contacts in the NS area aswell, I may have some things you might need aswell

Thanks a bunch Ryan...Looks like it may be a #1 Mk3 build...from the ground up for starters...they look so much better in their orginal form than chopped to death..
 
lee enfields are easy to rebuild bubba nomaly just cuts the forend down this is easily replaced a hacked barrel on the other hand can be a problem this is where id say make it look like a classy sporter there is even one where the sight base on the receiver have been removed these are the guns its ok to have fun with (new barrels,scope mounts, ect) im looking for the worse case gun right now a no 4 mk 1 that has had the sight base and charger boss removed and the bayonet lugs hacked off to make a .22/.303 or .25/.303 out of
 
I just bought a very clean no1 mk3 Sporter, it's almost complete less the nose cap, forward band,rear sight gaurd, upper front handgaurd and of course the forestock is cut down. I've been looking high and low and it seems like no4 stocks are a little more common but no1 mk3's are getting scarce! The rest of the parts are a dime a dozen, I think I'm just going to drop the $500 for a complete military rifle rather then dropping $300-$400 on all the parts I need to restore my sporter. Now that I've shot my Sporter I kinda like it just the way it is. That being said if you can find a cheap bubba'd Enfield it may be worth the time and money to try and restore it.
 
For me it's not about the money I put in, or what its worth after I'm done.
It's the time spent doing it myself and to be proud to bring these rifles
Back. Plus I really enjoy it!
So, find an uncut barrel No.4 and have at it. Cheaper rebuild cost if your worried about it.
 
I have a nice #1 sporter that I keep looking for furniture for. Price is an object. I see furniture going for $300 plus, that's beyond my hobby budjet. Meanwhile, I keep rebuilding things I can find parts for.
Sarco will list the parts but don't have anything in stock. And good luck getting an answer from them.
