Harrington & Richardson M16A1 Lower - It's been through a few wars :D
Whiteoak match 16" barrel
vortex flash
pri handle
larue 12.0
vltor gasblock
harris w/larue
short dot w/larue 1.93
vltor clubfoot
magpul grip
magpul trigger guard
troy sights

Lots of C-products mags with magpul gen 2 followers filled with mk262

There's other stuff I can't recall and things not in the picture. I just told them to build the most accurate 16" recce they could and this is what came. Test fire was grouping .5-.75 moa with 77 gr mk 262.

The other rifles in the pics are just what was lying around the room. Shorty Hungarian that was a part of a group that we had an IA armourer build, Side folder from europe (too lazy to check where from), Tabuk Yugo RPK copy w/drum.

Still needs a spray job and then I'll take some better pics outdoors.

Can't wait to hit the range.

Side folders are 10x more solid than underfolders. Underfolders tend to flop around when changing firing positions once they are worn in.

Both the side & underfolders have #### cheekweld. If I was going to use one of them for any length of time I'd guntape a piece of foam to the side of it. Might as well run fixed stock AKs if you're high pro as the folders don't really serve any purpose except trying to hide the weapon during low pro operations.

Thanks. I used to own a bottom folder and I liked it for being a tad longer, but the flipfloppy butt part was irritating. I also shot a 74 folder, and that stock seemed decent.

Big Red you have way to much money and way to much time on your hands. Anyway s I am jealous. When u back next shooting some time LOL

Unless of course you are doing Recce by fire.;)

Why is called a "recce build" anyway?

I think MSTN coined the recce/recon on his precision 16" builds for the Navy. This is a precision 16" build with some parts sent by MSTN, and the rest from JTAC.

The term recce is for the rifle -- West Coast SEAL teams wanted more of a rifle than the M4 - but less than the Mk12 or Mk11 rifles.

They got a 16" stainless steel barrel in a rifle length freefloat tube with a match trigger and originally a ACOG scope - that was later replaced by a combat variable

But thanks for you opinion from the Itlis recce world :D
