Long story short, the LPK in my AR is a DPMS, and the trigger is horrible. Popped it out a while back and found out why. Turns out their is a very rough bur on the surface of the hammer, as a result the trigger pull is extremely gritty. I don't want to risk a safety issue by messing with it. So, I just want to replace it.

I don't want a super fancy trigger like a geissle or a Timney, just a nice smooth, Service Rifle legal 2 stage. Some of the triggers I was looking at are the Armalite Tactical 2 stage and the NM 2 stage. Problem is the tactical is sold out at wolverine and From what I gather the NM pull is too light. Anyone want to clarify?

The RRA 2 stage trigger seems popular. Whats the trigger pull? Is it SR Legal?

Also, I was looking at brownells and was wondering, is it true that the US DOS has raised the max export limit to 500, if so are triggers exportable or are they "Major Components"?

Thanks.

I use the ALG triggers and find them to be very nice, it is still a battle trigger and I find them to be of great quality, very smooth.
I also have a Geissle SSDE (I think thats the right model) I like this trigger as well but hey are more expensive, the ALG can be had for about $89-$95, I think Questar and maybe CTCSupplies has them.

The US import limit has been updated to $500 and as long as the company is registered for US export Brownells will ship the parts, so some of the brands can be exported.

I use a Geissele High speed National match and even though its expensive as hell it is one of the finest triggers I have ever pulled period. Nice clean and crisp feel when I lead the lead fly.

well they are all junk compared to Geissele so don't bother looking. The SSA or SSA-E is what you want. every time i pull the trigger its like pure ###. buy once cry once.

want to drink some koolaid?

Just picked up an ALG for my beater AR and have been looking for a geissele sd3g for my good AR. Can't find one in stock anywhere. Have a geissele in my ACR and love it.

It seems arms east is out of most of their geissele line and does tier one armoury still exist?

Found a really good Vid for installing the Timney... very easy except tightening the lock down screws was a bit difficult as I didn't have a vice to keep my AR steady!

Happy to hear you are liking it, I have one in the mail on its way to me from Brownells. 89$ for the trigger and entire LPK.

The State Dept. has raised the limit to $500 however you will need an End user Statement for orders over $100. Brownells will email you the form just fill it out and email or fax it back to them this should only delay your order by a day so its not that big of a deal.

I just received a Rock River Arms lower with their 2-stage match trigger installed.
I haven't finished the rifle project yet, but the trigger feels pretty damn good to me. Questar is the dealer, although they are not in stock...I got mine off the EE.

I have the armalite triggers on my ARs

The NM will make 2.5kg with a small tweak of the trigger spring.

The Armalite design differs from the other Milazzo (sp?) design two stage triggers in that it uses a torsion spring for the disconnector, about 2/3 the size of the main trigger spring and it allows unlimited adjustment to the first and second stage split, ie you can have 4.5 lb first and 1 lb second, or the reverse.

There is a very favourable review of the drop-in CMC trigger in the current issue of "The Book of the AR 15". Priced at $195.

You bend the legs of the trigger spring like this

The bend you see is about what you'll need for 2.5kg

In your position, I'd buy the whole lower parts kit with the regular armalite two stage trigger from wolverine for $145 and then sell yours dpms kit for $75 or so.

When both are set up with the same weight springs I cannot tell any difference between the regular and NM armalite triggers
