OP Its not for you. Its for police to make it easier to identify, because there is lots of type 54s or M48s in the country yet they all look like TT33, which would make any regular constable confused.
Interesting. You'd figure they'd put the actual manufacturer name like all my other registrations. My Ruger 1911 paper doesn't say "Colt" on it, for example.
Thanks for the help, folks!
All mine regardless of country say Tokarev.
Tokarev isn't the manufacturer. It's the designer/design.
Received registration for Zastava M57, certificate says "Tokarev" not Zastava. Should I be concerned?
Has anyone on this forum ever been a victim of a traffic stop while on their way to/from the range and had it get to the point where they had to show their paper work?
The identification system used by the CFP refers to "manufacturer" and "make".
Is Tokarev the name used for "manufacturer" or "make"?
My incoming transfers show Make: Tokarev, Model: Type 54 and M57. (Thanks Tradeex).
Yes, and if you are still concerned, call them up and ask why it says tok instead of M57, bust I think everyone here is correct, the same gun can have different names, especially military.so best thing is call it what it was originally.
Good plan! Enjoy the M57!I'm okay with how things are since everyone else who has one of these seems to have it written out the same way. I'm not about to call the CFO and make more work for myself if there's no need to.
