Here's the deal, I just bought a new Sig Pro 2022 to use in IPSC/IDPA. Now I need a crap load of magazines which appear almost impossible to find in Alberta. Calling Wolverine, I was told they have some on order but would not be in until March and would cost 50.00 per mag + shipping. On the Sig website they are advertised for 12.50 per mag!!! :kickInTheNuts:

My question is, if Sig is unwilling to mail them to Canada, what are the legalities of having them sent to my parents in Texas so they can mail them to me?? I would never hear the end of it if mom and dad went to jail!!!

First thing is of course that Canadian law restricts you to a 10 round magazine, so having your parents send anything with a greater capacity would be prohibited.

Second thing is that a 10 round magazine is considered "high capacity" under the homeland protection regulations and is illegal for export from the US.

I think that legally you're screwed.

I bought a couple of 10 round Hipower magazines off ebay just before they stopped selling gun parts. I had no problem. I have not found anything that states that exporting them is prohibited. Can you provide a reference for this?

Nothing Like some bad internet advice to start off the day.

If you want to order 10 round mags from the US, than order them. There is no provision that says that you cannot order them. Ensure to.........

#1. Order 10 round mags...not 12 or 17 or 30. Bad Idea.
#3. Keep that order under $100 US.

Do a search for gods sake man. this has been brought up many, many times.

I purchased 2-10 round .40 cal mags direct from Smith & Wesson. They showed up 3 weeks later by Purolator. They cleared Customs without any difficulty.

Sorry guys -- my bad I guess.

The last time I tried to order some 10-round Wilson Combat magazines from Brownells I was told specifically that they could not ship them because 10 round pistol magazines were classified as "high capacity" and prohibited from export. Thus my belief that they were!
