Recent BATF Form 6 wait times?

I had mine back in a week. Have been renewing for trapshooting for the last 6 or 7 years and they have all been back in less than a month. I would be giving them a call. All of mine have been by fax. Ken
 
They emailed mine back last year but it took a little less time than I have waited so far this year. I don't have a fax number so I never provided them with one. I think it took just over three weeks last year, but it has been five weeks waiting so far this year. I will call next week if I dont hear from them. I have a couple of weeks before I need it.

Just put my own name address as manufacturer and list as per the form...

Do you still need a hunting license or match invitation to get approved? I remember reading about 6 months ago now that it was no longer required for Canadians.

No hunting lic. req'd
Just leave those section on the app blank... They have yet to publish a new form so just keep using the old one

That's what I thought, but I faxed my most recent application in September and still haven't received anything back. I'll have to contact them.

Yeaaahhh... I would have called long ago if I were you.

Y'never know... 'Your fax could have been interrupeted or their fax ran dry just before your came through.

I've found the staff at the BATFE imports branch to be very accomodating... I don't think they mind at all if you call 'em up to ask about your app.

I've done it in the past myself and they've always been right on top of it.

So it turns out they faxed me my approved permit less than 2 weeks after I sent it. Another member of the household just put it aside when it came in thinking it was just a photocopy I had made for myself. But I have it now, 4 months later.
