Rechabering a 30-30

Not with my 219 in 30/30 , but it did happen with a Savage 12 gauge single built on the same frame as a 219 , I forget the model number , it might even be a 219. I took it apart and found some play in the safety that allowed the trigger/sear to disengage from the striker , but the safety held it until it was disengaged . It was a pretty easy fix and has been trouble free since .

An old, old, cartridge, the 30 Lever Power would certainly work, and reamer is easily obtained from PT&G.

Cases are made to be used in Model 94 and Marlin lever rifles by turning down the rim of .303 British or the .30-40 Krag, then shortening the overall length of the case to standard .30-30 length. Velocities well above 2700 fps with 150 gr bullets are easily achieved.

In a 219 Savage the case would not have to be shortened. Consequently the velocities would be even higher.
