Rechambering a cooey model 75 to 17 mach 2

It would be cheaper to toss the Model74 in the locker and buy one in 17-M2
Do you have a stash of that 17-M2 ammo cause it is just shy of unobtainium at this stage of the game.
But, if your hell bent on the sleeve and chamber job Donny tossed a number out there .
Your next step would be to fins a g/s who wants to take on the project.
Interested to see how this plays out..

most likely no one will . .17mach2 ammo seems to have dried up. the cost of the reamer , buy or manufacture.
in the long run it might be cheaper to buy a used .17hmr

I would provide the barrel insert from brownells in 17hm2 with a 1:9 twist. Would this make it cheaper?

Do you have the liner already? Supply side sourcing has been spotty.

Unless you can do this yourself (not that far out of line for someone with some basic skills) the cost of having it done exceeds just buying a rifle in .17 cal.

Add up the bills for a liner install, a reamer (unless you have that too) and the almost complete lack of ammo available, and it seems a pretty poor choice of projects.

I have the tooling... I lined a barrel and chambered for the 17MII for my Ruger 77-22. It shoots so good! I'll sell the reamer and the tooling for lining.

I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a Cooey though.

If you have the liner already pick a better rifle... if you don't have the liner already you probably won't spend the $250 US export fee...
