Rechambering my k98 mauser to other Cali

And to add....why this particular regulation was adopted isnt really clear. Some folks think it was to eliminate a lot of $11.99 .303 No. 4's from being used to snipe at groundhogs in more heavily populated areas. This actually makes sense. What is nice however is that it permits a guy on a limited budget to have one rifle and be able to hunt any game in Canada effectively if they wished. Given the options MNR had available to them...I think it is a great decision and rather than trying to prove to them how clever we are....I think we should be pleased some well informed individual made the call and accept it..and move on

Just remember that the BORE diameter of a .270W is .270!! And 'calibre' may be measured via BORE diameter or Groove diameter. The Ontario MNR are well aware of this and quite specifically chose the wording they chose. A rifle with a barrel chambered in 'calibre' .270W is good to go as it is less than a calibre of .275! The regs make no mention of bullet diameter.....nor do they specify that calibre shall be measured by 'groove' diameter

We'll that's awesome then. thanks for correcting me. I appear to have been misinformed. so I can use my .270 for coyote then? Cool!
