Reclaiming Projectiles

I have a bullet trap that is full of all sorts of projectiles from straight lead to jacketed to lead-free. Maybe 50lbs total. Should I explore selling it? Is there any value to it? Or just discard it? Not interested in making my own bullets.

Where are you located? I'll take it! I can trade some cast boolits or monies.

It has some value.. There should be a bullet caster near you that would want it.. Beer is a good trade

Yes, it has value. Pure lead at metal recyclers is going for $1.00 per # on the West coast right now, so being that yours is going to be mixed and a lot of work, I would imagine about half the price. Some might pay some less. But yes, sell it to a caster and keep him busy !

The difference is this is really "dirty" lead. Your % after melting will probably be in the 50% range.

And most of the rest will be dirty scrap copper which is worth more than the lead.

Fixed it for you. There might be 10 pounds of copper (really doubt it), which will pay almost enough to cover the cost of the gasoline you use when you deliver it to the recycler.
