So I took my Restriced Bushmaster ACR into a local smith that is a verifier yesterday to have a new non restricted length barrel put on which I provided. As I was signing the paperwork one of the store employees who wasn't actually the gun smith told me that they will be destroying my existing barrel and not returning it to me?
Can anyone else shed some light onto this. I mean I realize that the length of the barrel is restriced when installed on a rifle but what is to pro emt me from selling it to someone else with a restricted acr? Is this mandated from the RCMP or CFO? When I purchased the longer barrel it wasn't cheap and I was hoping to recoup some of my money by selling the restricted barrel as it's in like new condition.
Is there any alternative to having them destroy it? Hardly seems fair.
Thanks for any info
