Recoil and accuracy: 300 SAUM Vs. 300 Ultramag

Heres the scoop. I have a 700 LSS in 300 UM, but the gun is long, and I'm short. I also just got in a Model 7 Laminate in 300 SAUM (lighter)

How will the recoil/accuracy of the 7 compare to my 700?

Trying to figure out which one to keep for moose!

Both are capable of much more accuracy and power than you'll need. The UM will have significantly more recoil.

Both will offer similar accuracy,but the ultramag will have significantly more recoil.

i don't know if this is pertinent or not, but i have a 7mm saum and side to side, it kicks less than my dads .243 rem 7400!
and a heck of a lot less than my previous 7mm rem mag

PERFECT! Thanks guys. I'm very accustomed to the recoil of my 300 RUM, Just never having shot one of the SAUM's (especially out of a 7 lb gun) I didn't know what to expect from this model 7.

i don't know if this is pertinent or not, but i have a 7mm saum and side to side, it kicks less than my dads .243 rem 7400!

How could that be possible?

I find this difficult to believe too, unless (maybe) the SAUM was benchrest-heavy

the stock is a little on the heavy side, but its also based on the remington sendero with the 26" fluted heavy barrel, so she is quite hefty.
sorry for mixup, i was thinking the LSS had a heavy long barrel

The LSS is the UM, has a 26" tube and is kinda heavy. The 7 has the 22" tube
and will weigh in about 7.5 LB with scope.
