I am thinking about getting an NP 22, and I am wondering if it would be worth while to use a recoil buffer in order to reduce the chance of the frame cracking.

When the frame cracks, is it due to battering from the recoil, or is another mechanism at play?

The recoil buffer I have in mind is one of the Buffer Technologies units:

I use one in my 226. It is OK but I think that the price is a bit high for what you get. BTW it has a very small bushing where the rod moves inside which fits in the front of the slide that likes to move around when you re-assemble the pistol and is easy to use. I am thinking of upgrading to a dual recoil spring/rod a la HK made buy EFK Firedragon. It runs at about $59.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll send them an e-mail and see if they will ship to Canada.

Edit: I just got an e-mail back from them saying they ship to Canada.
